Patisserie Valerie are a successful high street chain in London. They have an international reputation as producers of some of the finest hand-made cakes, award-winning croissants and patisserie.
Design partner (repeat business)
Whilst working with Sue Davis on a few other projects she had mentioned that the Patisserie Valerie web site needed to be updated.
We took a close look at the existing web site and it's e-commerce functionality and whole heartedly agreed.
Ben Maden (our founder and lead consultant) worked closely with Sue Davis to analyse the client's needs and prepare a proposal. We knew we had some stiff competition so we were very please to win the project.
Flexible project
It was clear that the client would need to be able to submit input into the functionality of the new web site during the project.
The need to get the customisation of cakes just right meant that the project went back and forth to the client for input quite a few times. This iterative approach has resulted in a very smooth experience for visiting shoppers who want to customise cakes with "celebration messages" or special ingredients.
The result was that the project went over the timeframe slightly and we kept the client fully informed of our progress and their options. The project was even completed under the original budget!
Huge success
The Patisserie Valerie web site has grown to become a huge success with many times more orders that they had ever had before.
Patisserie Valerie now have an efficient and successful business web site that matches their successful high street presence.

Matter Solutions are available to provide functionality enhancements as and when our clients need them. We also provide telephone support to staff who manage the online shop using the bespoke database system.

- Advanced product features. Enables visiting shoppers to customise their purchase where applicable.
- Online payments. Payment gateway provided by WorldPay.
- Secure administration section for staff only.
- Customers, orders and products managed in a bespoke database which enables data updates and downloads.
- We've utilised intelligent links rather than just database id numbers to ensure that the site is SEO friendly
