We worked on an excellent website for the Marquee Club back in 2002 with kadazan.net, who are now based in Perth - Western Australia. This exciting project proved to be very useful and led to a number of other small projects for Dave Stewart's website and his company the Artist Network.
A database system was created to display upcoming events and was browsable on a week-by-week basis. The toolkit had many simple, but useful, features such as cross linking gigs to the relevant band's own profile page.
This profile could also be linked to all past and future appearances at the club.
Our approach is to make all websites as practical and profitable as possible. This meant that we provided the Marquee's staff with the capacity to embed the unique web links of ticket purchasing sites, such as ticketmaster and ticketweb, into each gig. This enabled the website to quickly generate revenue from interested visitors.
Historic gig information was displayed on days of the year that had no gig entry.
The aim of this feature was to highlight the enormous heritage of The Marquee Club's name in the UK music industry.
The Marquee Club was purchased by Carling in 2003, so unfortunately the super web-site we built is no longer live.
